Rick is a lifelong entrepreneur and innovator with a focus on early stage business development and creating new markets.

He has over forty years’ experience doing business and market development across multiple industries and sectors. His work was awarded United States Small Business New Product of the by the National Society of Professional Engineers. Rick was twice awarded the Wisconsin Governor’s New Product of the Year Award. He was also recognized as one of Fast Company Magazine’s ‘Fast 50’ global innovators, now called ‘The World’s Most Innovative Companies’. An inventor, Rick holds multiple patents in industrial fluid recycling which he commercialized worldwide.

In his role as a business developer for innovative commercial kitchens and food networks in the Midwest, he helped pioneer effective new business models supporting the artisan food sector. This experience is helping smaller scale, professional food organizations to create networks that provide new business expansion opportunities, new startups, and new jobs, including employment for people with disabilities. He is a proven business development practitioner and a collaborative leader with extensive experience in both rural and urban markets. During his time as a non-profit director, he was responsible for contact with media and government at many levels – international, national, multi-state, state, regional, county, and city. Rick is an accomplished writer and public speaker.
